Read our FAQ

GITy Up! is bite-sized, overnight bike touring around the 50-mile triangle formed by the Illinois Prairie Path and Fox River Trail in west suburban Chicagoland—Wheaton to Aurora (new this year!) to South Elgin to Wheaton…and the amazing forest preserves and communities in between!

It’s a Quick Fix! Inspired by the 450-mile Grand Illinois Trail, GITy Up! is a single overnight, supported bike tour for beginning cycle tourists, for families, for the expert with restless legs and a weekend free.

Choose 50 miles or 17 miles (good choice if you’re pulling tots in a trailer) of trail-based touring spread out over two days. You bring your tent, your sleeping bag, your family, your guitar for campfire songs. We’ll schlep your gear. (Note: your kids are not your gear.) Limited area hotel rooms are available.

It’s crazy healthy happy fun! Check out what bike campers got into last year on this route. How much adventure you have is up to you!

It’s only $85! Bring the tots: kids 5 yrs. old and younger ride free.

It’s limited! Registration is open—only 200 spots are available. GITy Up! gets goin’ rain or shine; sorry, no refunds on registration fees.

Riding in GITy Up! helps Trails for Illinois make every home a trailhead. Thanks for your interest!
