GITy Up! Recon 2012, a set on Flickr.
Photos from my GITy Up! Recon on 6.8.2012 with Recon Team Member Matt Didier. It was a fun, hot, long day.

I’d never actually ridden the IPP or the Fox River Trail. But now I’ve ridden all of the GITy Up! route, and most of the Fox and the IPP.
It’s really so, so cool, with very limited and isolated not cool stuff. We’ll have a great time.
Big revelation: the Fox River Trail north of St. Charles is hillier than I would have guessed, including little climbs and a couple big drops (big for a trail in this region, that is).
We serindipidously met a Ginger Barr, who simply rode up to us and insisted that she help guide us through Batavia and up to Geneva. GITy Up! is going to be better because of Ginger! Plus she’s volunteered to help with GITy Up! weekend. How crazy lucky we are to have met her!
Jeanne Bereza of Fox Valley Bike & Ski Club (http://www.fvbsc.org/) took over from north of St. Charles as our route guide & expert. Thank you, Jeanne!
Enjoyed chatting with Matt Knowles of All Spoked Up (http://www.allspokedup.com/), trail side in Batavia, and with Alejandra of Andre’s Restaurant, both in the same building. They’ll be hosting a stop for GITy Up!
Posted are cool stuff and not cool stuff. My phone geotags pictures, making it useful to mark spots that will be good for SAG, or easy to pick up people needing a lift, or sketchy areas where we’ll have to put somebody to help out. Flickr will show you the location of the photos.
Enjoy!
